ABOUT MARITIME YACHT SERVICES
Maritime Yacht Services is an established organisation offering a full range of services including paint, structural and GRP repairs, respray, electronics, fixture and fittings, engineering and installation, teak decking and tube repair and replacement. Maritime Yacht Services operates a business where all marine trades are available under one roof to ensure that repairs or projects are carried out to the highest standard and efficiency.
OVERVIEW
UNDERSTANDING THEIR NEEDS
In the immediate term, they required support sourcing staff to fulfil the work they have booked at their new refit shed. The staff required included 10-20 contractors and one permanent hire for their management team.
Beyond this, they have additional international contracts, which they will be sending their core team to so will need to backfill these positions to ensure that their UK-based clients continue to receive the high levels of service for which they are known.
These short-term growth plans have led Maritime Yacht Services to identify the long-term risks associated with their current structure and policies. When they approached Navis Consulting, the majority of recruitment at Maritime Yacht Services was undertaken by one talented recruiter who completed everything from sourcing and selection of candidates, to offer management and onboarding. If this key member of the team is on annual leave, off sick or choses to retire from the business, then the growth of the business and ability to deliver will be massively impacted.

OUR BESPOKE STAFFING SOLUTION
Subsequent to discussions with key stakeholders, Hollie identified that to successfully recruit the volume of positions required, a two-pronged approach would be best. The first part of the approach was to improve their brand positioning in the market, and the other was to work in partnership with Maritime Yacht Services to pipeline their talent and support with recruitment on an ongoing basis.
Hollie discussed Maritime Yacht Services featuring on the Boatbuilding News weekly vlog, which reaches a maritime audience of many thousands across LinkedIn, Instagram and Tiktok. She also suggested creating a social media campaign, to showcase their new premises and details of the projects they were currently working on. This would increase visibility of the organisation to the candidate market and highlight Maritime Yacht Services as an employer of choice.
Alongside this, Hollie created a solution for Navis Consulting to become Maritime Yacht Services’ recruitment partner to ensure that they had ongoing access to high quality talent.
